Mr and Mrs Gordon’s quaint terraced home was in the process of undergoing a complete makeover to take the house back to its root. In the process, the couple were keen to replace the existing uPVC casement windows in favour of windows that would fit in with the heritage and style of the property.
Due to the age of the home, it was important for Mr and Mrs Gordon to seek approval from the council prior to making any permanent changes, and were pleasantly surprised by the response they received, “We consulted the council when considering changing the windows, and they were very happy, stating that our plans for the house are as it would have originally been, so they were pleased to get sash windows put back in.”
After looking at our window and door range, the homeowners decided on wooden sash windows and a new Bardwell back door. To compliment the rest of the home’s exterior, they chose to finish both their windows and doors in Farrow and Ball’s ‘New White’.
Mr and Mrs Gordon have benefitted from their new windows and door massively and explain “Of course, there’s been lots of benefits of having the new windows in place, but the biggest thing for us has been the vast improvement in appearance.”.
Whilst they have enjoyed improving the kerb appeal of their home and receiving compliments from passers-by, the couple also hope it encourages other neighbours to consider an upgrade too.

“We really hope that it encourages our neighbours and others nearby to do the same and make the transformation for their own homes too”.
